Why not join us in completing the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro from anywhere in the world!
Mount Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano in Tanzania and is the highest mountain in Africa. It is also the highest single free-standing mountain in the world!
Taking place from 1-30 September 2021 is Climb Any Mountain's Mount Kilimanjaro Virtual Fitness Challenge that takes you 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level and through the beautiful landscapes of the tallest mountain in Africa!
You can walk, jog, run, skip or hop the 78.9km / 49 mile distance on your own or as part of a team. We'll support you all the way and you'll be able to see your progress on your own virtual map.
Register now and help us in our commitment to providing people with learning disability and mental illness in South Africa with the chance to live a life that they love with choice and freedom.
Joining the challenge
It's free to enter. To sign up, select the 'Register' button on this page, and you'll be guided through the process to register for the event and set up your fundraising page. The target is to travel 78.9 km and raise £50 but if you want to raise more you can change your target when you set your page up.
Recording your activities
Each time you complete a distance-based exercise activity such as running, jogging or walking you will advance along the map of Mount. Kilimanjaro. Even walking your dog, your daily commute and dropping your kids off to school can count towards this!
The simplest way to track your progress is to sync with your Strava account, which you'll have the option to do when you sign up. Once you've completed this step, you need to record your activities throughout September, and they will automatically be added to your personal fundraising page.
If you aren't a Strava user, or you forget to log an activity, you can simply click the 'Add an activity' button below your distance target on your page and enter the details manually.
Sharing is caring!
Once you've registered, you'll be sent an email with the link to your own personal fundraising page. You can send that link out to friends and family, and you can also share your page or activities directly to social media.
Joining or creating a team
You can join up with friends, family or colleagues to see how much you can raise together or compete against other teams to see who can raise the most!
When you register, you'll have the option to create a team, or find one that's already up and running, and you can join it. You can also do this later if you prefer.
Once you've set up your team, you can invite others to join you there and then by adding their emails.
Walk, run, (or hop, or skip!) throughout the month, but as a team you'll be able to see how much you've raised collectively.
